Transformational Coaching is the kind of coaching I do.

Executive, life, relationship, and spiritual coaching are the application of this transformational style to different topics. Any given session or client engagement can involve any or all of the executive, life, relationship and/or spiritual topics!

Our work together is not limited by how we start. For example, if you come for executive coaching, we can add in life, relationship, and/or spiritual topics at a later date. Or switch topic completely! Everything is always on the menu!

Regardless of topic, any given session will typically involve a combination of standard elements or motifs, according to the demands of your present-moment situation. As and when ‘rationality barriers’ of various kinds crop up, we’ll address those, too!

Transformational Coaching

Transformational coaching catalyzes a change in the character and capacity of the ‘you’ that’s being and doing life. This is less about acquiring particular skills or capacities in specific life-areas, more about revealing and living as the ‘you’ that you really really are.

Whatever skills and capacities this ‘you’ may or may nor have, it definitely exists in peace, security, spontaneity, creativity, and deep intelligence. Stabilizing as this you, these qualities then pervade every area of your life.

Executive Coaching

Pressures on those in executive roles are consistently increasing. A particular issue is that business responsibilities tend to drive executives’ attention away from their inner being, where the real resources lie.

Drawing on my business experience, I will relate your specific challenges to opportunities for healing, growth, and transformation … helping to bring an ‘Executive Intelligence’, always latent in you, even more present, online, and available.

Executive clients typically experience enhanced performance, improvements in work/life balance, and more joy and depth - at work and outside it.

Life Coaching

My approach to life-coaching – changing the way you engage with life as a whole – doesn’t use an industry-typical model in which ‘the wise and experienced coach teaches rules-to-live-by’! Instead, by examining both general themes and specific challenges, I work with clients to help them let go of outdated emotional-behavioral patterns, worldviews, and identities.

Life-coaching clients then experience greater vitality and passion, and the ability to navigate life with a true sense of meaning and purpose.

Relationship Coaching

Life is relationship. The deep root of all suffering is a relational dysfunction. And the relationship between you and I, as practitioner and client, will be a central feature in our work together … even if the main focus of that work is apparently non-relational.

In relationally-focused engagements, I work with clients to heal wounds, deepen in Love, and align in purpose. This work can address relationships of all kinds – intimate/romantic, familial, community, and professional. (Yes, you can Love your boss … and even the politician you most hate, right now!)

Spiritual Coaching

My work is non-religious, and typically couched in everyday, relatable, language. Nevertheless, it’s possible to map the reality-setting I use in coaching onto specific versions of major spiritual traditions.

So, if you’re looking to link personal transformation, executive role, life-as-a-whole, and/or relational issues with a spiritual journey, we can directly connect your traditional or non-traditional path with our work.

If you want to begin an explicitly spiritual approach to life, we can co-create that, too! And if you just want to go directly to the deep spiritual - that’s here, too!

The ‘Rationality Barrier’

Often, people with highly-developed intellects are turned off by mystical terminology and/or apparently-irrational claims associated with some deep transformational modalities. This is unfortunate, because it can prevent them from accessing the kinds of profound change they genuinely want.

I call this obstacle ‘the rationality barrier’: authentically addressing and overcoming it is one of my specialties – because I’ve faced it repeatedly in my own life journey! This is about getting the transformation you need, without losing the mind you also need, to a vortex of woo or in a miasma of confused ‘mystery’ …

Got questions?

I’ll do my best to answer!

More About Coaching Sessions

A given session or ongoing client engagement may involve a mix of coaching varieties (Executive Coaching, Life Coaching, Relationship Coaching etc.), or may focus on just one.

Independent of coaching variety, a given session will usually draw on one or more of the following seven basic elements or motifs:

Aligning Purpose

The power of any transformational relationship derives from an effective joint alignment to your needs, desires, and life-situation. As our relationship grows, our understanding of its purpose may evolve, e.g. as previously subconscious motivations emerge into awareness.

Building Awareness

Non-judgmental awareness is perhaps the most crucial and certainly the most fundamental transformational capacity. If necessary, we will sharpen and deepen this capacity in you (and me!), by joint examination, structured exercises, and identifying and removing blocks to presence.

Catalysing Insight

‘Insight’ is an inner revelation – a literal in-sight. It’s transformational, because once I’ve clearly seen how I generate unwanted results, inner resources automatically align towards change. Perhaps my main job is to catalyse crucial insights – not my insights about you, but yours into your self.

Releasing Early-Life Patterns

Most people are still living at least in part in the conditions of early life, responding to what’s happening right now as if it were a childhood survival struggle. Bringing awareness to how early-patterning is still playing out catalyses the withdrawal of investment in this kind of activity.

Exploring Reality-Beliefs

Mature, authentic, adults who’ve relinquished early-life strategies may still experience limitations deriving from deeply-unconscious reality-beliefs. These beliefs can be released in a number of ways, ranging from rational examination to liberation of related (and binding) emotional complexes.

Developing Leader/Followership

Joyful, loving, purposeful living calls for a fluid blend of leading and following. Some people are in rigid patterns of over-leading, others of over-following. The coaching relationship itself is a place where any dysfunctional patterns can be revealed, and then rebalance themselves.

Integrating Change, Ending Well …

Coaching is about change. But deep change has to integrate, over a period of non-change. I use a comprehensive map of human consciousness, identifying structural landmarks. Rather than an open-ended, lifelong, engagement (as some psychotherapies envision), I aim to see you through these landmark transformations … help you integrate them …

… and finally, say a fond farewell!
